Beranang, 24 October – Robotfighto created by students of MARA-Japan Industrial Institute (MJII), Amira Syahdina Ahmad Suffian, Nur Alia Syafiqah Hassan Buhari and Anisah Mardhiyyah Mohamad Zaki who are participated in Youth Robot Challenge 2018 (Y-RoboC’18) from 14th to 16th October 2018 at Institut Kemahiran Tinggi Belia Negara (IKTBN), Sepang recently as a warm up training before representing MJII in Robofighto Competition 2018, Beranang, Selangor.

According to Amira, they were required to produce a fightorobot to the requirements set by the organizer that were the measurement must be 300mm without arms and the weight must be not more than 8kg.

Alhamdulilah, we succeeded in producing a fightorobot within 30 days and had been practising every night to ensure they wouldn’t encounter any problems during the fight.

“We are always sensitive to the important elements in creating fightorobot because with a slight mistake, it would not function”, she said at the Robofighto Competition 2018 MJII here.

Nur Alia added that the interest to create the fightorobot trained her to be more discipline, creative and innovative. Moreover, the teaching in MJII encouraged students to create something that could benefit further in robotics and automation.

I was first attracted to fightorobot when I saw Battelbots and never thought that studying in MJII could give me the opportunity to create my own fightorobots, she said.

According to Anisah, it didn’t matter if you were a male or female to be able to create robofighto although men usually dominated this robot creation.

“Although I am a girl, I have a deep interest in robofighto and will not give up to learn more until I can create the best one”, she said.

Students from MJII hope that MARA would always give them the continuous support in organizing Robofighto Competition in the future to encouraged and expose students who are interested in robotics.
